Question Update question.

I was wondering, what would happen if you were updating using a sony offical update, and took out you'r memory card while it was updating? Would it brick, or would it ask you to put it back in? I don't want any one to try this because it might brick. If you have a mod chip installed, i im going to ask you to test this, You don't have to if you WANT. I was just wondering. Thanks

P.S. Sony =

I don't know. I never heard of anyone doing that. It'll probably brick since the update runs from the memory stick.

thats a good question it depends if the psp has copied it to the ram or not, but im sure with D_A's generic downgrader at the begining it copies the 1.50 update to the ram and you can remove you memstick when it says so

It does brick the PSP. I believe it reads:

"The Update Failed. The Memory Stick has been removed."

Well, something like that. At least, that's what you get when you take it out during the intro screens.

I think it would copy it to the ram. Just a guess though.

well, i was thinking that is sony was smart, it would copy some files to the flash from the ram. Like recovery files. So you can put a update on the card, and it would run it. It was just a thought though.

sony would rather you brick it and they reflash 2.81+ firmware to your flash than some potential exploit of a recovery option. and sony smart yeah right the only truely smart person for psp updating is dark_alex who gives the scene what they want in a firmware
