Streaming video/MP3's on PSP?

I'm sorry if this has already been covered (I have searched high and low) but is it possible to stream either mp4 video or mp3 audio from my desktop computer to my PSP over wifi using a homebrew app?

I believe PSPvideo9 is a format converter and transfer software. What I am wondering about is software that allows me to play videos (or music) from my desktop hard drive over wifi (without transferring them to my memory stick).

This is one feature that 2.6 actualy added. (If you homebrew or are thinking of it and currently have 2.0 or lower I don't suggest you upgrade)

A guide for this can be found at

http://www.pspfanboy.com/2005/12/07/...c-to-your-psp/

This only works for music, but it works preaty well once you have it set up.

Hope this helps.

Hmm. That is about what I was looking for. Unfortunately (or fortunately if you look at it that way) I'm running 2.0, so that won't work for me. I assume there is no way to do anything like this with 2.0? It would be so handy to be able to watch video anywhere in my house without going through the hassle of transferring to the mem stick.

Thanks for the replies.

There's a link in my sig that goes to the thread i made about it.

*EDIT*
Oops, didn't realize you didnt want to have to put stuff on the mem stick. Nevermind, then.

Well, that is almost what I was looking for, but again, for streaming you seem to need the RSS capabilities of firmware 2.6. With firmware 2.0 it seems that you can only download wirelessly to the mem stick.

No big deal I suppose, I'll just wait on my 1 GB mem stick to get here (I'm still using the 32 MB one that came with the PSP).
