Points: 17.12 Donate | | | Disadvantages to registering psp? I was wondering if I should register my psp, and if not, what the disadvantages are.
Just so you know, I have a PSP with official firmware (  ) but I hope to buy an extra battery sometime in the future and try the soldering method to make my own pandora (out of the original battery). |

Points: 5.19 Donate | | | not, really as far as i know. i believe you need to register to get the 90 day (i think its 90) warranty from sony. obviously it isn't going to cover any issues if you attempt to hack it, but you can always claim it happened during a firmware update (power issue, memstick issue, possible bad update file). anyways i think if your register your psp you might get sent demos disk, if they still do that.
i am sure dq9, dorkdork, or jsf can better answer these q's. that i swhat i remember.

1. If your PSP gets stolen/lost, Sony knows who the real owner is (you may be able to retrieve it, who knows).
2. Warranty benefits.
3. Freebies from Sony (as mentioned by gdspsp, demos and the like).
Not registering won't due anything for you either. So I suppose it's better to get registered, since there is no reason not to... AFAIK.
Btw, long time no see PSP3D guys, thought I'd drop by, glad to see all is still well here..!

ASnyway i see no disadvantages to registering. Just advantages like johnnyoo listed and thanks gdspsp for mention us by name

Points: 354.50 Donate | | I registered my first PSP, and got a free Spiderman 2 UMD (this was a while ago), then I registered my next PSP (which I traded my old PSP for - Pandora didn't exist at the time) and got a free UMD case. I see no downsides, only free stuff.  |
