| | | | thanks. bought a used one that needed a UMD drive for my son. charged it up, turned it on the next day and everything would come on normally but you couldnt play a game. So I bought a used UMD drive, came from a reliable ebayer with a few hundred transactions and 100% feedback so i assume it would be working. Installed it as per directions, which was not too hard for me as I have done my share of electronic repairs before (so it all seemed to go well is what Im getting at), So it turns on and everything seems normal until you put a disc in, and when you close the door all the power goes off and it shuts down. Then it wont turn on again unless the door is open and the battery has been disconnected once. And if you leave the disc in when disconnecting the battery, it still wont turn on if the door is closed with the disc in.So I took a few things apart while it was still basically pieced together enough to run, and I found that as soon as the little beige toggle switch on the motherboard is tripped, thats when everything shuts off... Dont know why.. That switch is located just inside the disc door on the motherboard..... Ever heard of this before? thanks alot...
