What firmware should I update to?

Alright, well I haven't been active in the PSP community very much lately, and I figure I should probably update my custom firmware. I'm currently running 3.40 OE-A (fat psp), however it's been quite a while, and I haven't paid much attention to the scene. As a result, I don't really know what new firmwares are available, and which are more stable, etc... Is 3.90 M33-3 the best and most stable at the moment? Will everything work the same way as it does now for me on 3.40 OE-A? What will I need to go through to update to either of these?

Any advice/links are appreciated.

Thanks!

Oh, and hello to any and all psp3d members who remain active!

Hi, well I have been using 3.90 m33-3 for ever now and I have not had any problems what so ever. I also have the 1.50 kernel installed if it matters, but I just love it.

I think 3.90 m33 or whatever is the most recent with 1.5 kernal would be the best. everything should work fine for you still plus you'll be up to date with the firmwares

However, you can't go straight there from 3.40 OE - you need to go to 3.52 M33 first, then the small upgrade to 3.52 M33-4 (or 3.52 M33-3, it doesn't matter) and then you can go all the way up to 3.90 M33-3. I know it's longer than you might have hoped, but trust me, it's worth it.

Thanks for the tips. I was just reading somewhere that some people had issues with running homebrew on m33. Has that changed on m33-3, and if I need a separate kernel for homebrew, what do I need to get?
edit: Found the location of the 1.50 kernels, now I've just gotta locate official firmwares for 3.52 and 3.90

Try Dark-AleX - PSP Developer - that's the developer's official site. You want the 3.52 M33 "Release" and "M33-4", and 3.90 M33 "M33-3".

Yeah, I've located all of the files (got all the files possible from DA's website) and am about to move on to 3.90 M33-3.
Doubleposted Message Below:
Alright, so I put the 3.90 firmware in along with the M33-3 update as it said, and now it just says Please wait... after the Unpacking process happened. It's been there for a good 5+ minutes. Was I supposed to use the 3.90 m33 original eboot, or the actual 3.90 update from sony?
Doubleposted Message Below:
Figured it out. I needed to switch to 3.52 kernel from 1.50. Thanks, because now I'm running 3.90 m33-3!
