Since I bought GTA LCS and SOCOM, I noticed both dont require more then firmware 2.0, which really isnt half that bad since you can just downgrade when you want...but what happens when they start to require higher updates? IS the homebrew community screwed?? The version changers dont work anymore so...what are your thoughts?

Homebrew users began to lose intrest in homebrew games or apps. They wanted to play GTA. It was a really big blow to the homebrew developers, who had been content with the work they had accomplished. Everyone thought that they had it good, since there was no limit to what games you could download or play on your PSP. But now that GTA is out, about half of all the homebrew users updated and began using GTA and SOCOM and not homebrew. Some users like me are waiting for a big crack for 2.0, that will allow kernal mode apps and stuff to run on 2.0.
So basically what im saying is that if Sony requires 2.01 or 2.50, then all homebrew will be destroyed. No one will be able to update and downgrade again to play the newest games. I think that the amount of homebrew users will be so small that the developers will just give up and update. Its a bad time for homebrew, and if Sony requires 2.01 or higher, it will make it worse. |

2.01+ requirements to play a game - Unless Sony either makes an upgrade soooo cool that we would all WISH to upgrade, they are stuck.
UNLESS - the games that come out are too cool to resist and people will upgrade, and we would have to find a hack to the newest firmware which could take a while.
THEN AGAIN - If they didnt produce a cool enough game, then alot of people wouldn't upgrade.. but whats the likeliness of that happening?
OF COURSE - people might just keep the 2.0 psp and have HB on it, and maybe buy a second psp (I mean, if you have enough money to buy one, then u def. probably have enuf for 2, lol) and sony would love this...haha more money for them, and HB is saved for all!
wow... thats alot to ponder. |

But why does the version changer not work any more? And I really hope that games won't require 2.50... |
