Guide to Portals

The following URL's will allow you to try and test the portals online without puttin them on your psp. Give each of them a try, and if you like them, download them.
PORTALS:
remember, point your psp browsers to the below addresses.

alienware mini 1.5:
alienware mini 2.0 NEW:
WMP 3.0:
SonyStyle 2.0:
PSProto:
Portal OS X v1.0:
StreetXP:
Next Gen Portal:
Unleashed:
Mai's Dreamland:

Credit to erics273 from the ps forums.

The below will link you to the sites to download the portals of your choice. Copy and Paste the ENTIRE URL, some of the links got cut off.

***Note: For MSN Messenger users, this: http://mob.e-messenger.net/mobile/ is the best link I've found, if you wish to use Messenger on your PSP. Just a mobile version of e-messenger. Works better than the one you would use on a PC***

ON TO THE PORTALS:

What is a portal? ~ Taken from ASR's readme. Not all Portals have the same functions.

What this is meant to be is an offline website, accessible at all times by your PSP. If you do have an internet connection, there is an assortment of links to help you through the internet without using PSP's dial-a-key-board, including fast links to e-mail, searches, and online messengers. This is accessible to anybody using the official PSP Firmware 2.00 built-in browser. (Release Date: "Week of Aug. 15th")

Is it "Homebrew" and will it damage my PSP?

It's not Homebrew, but they're "Homemade." As far as I'm concerned, no one has encountered any problems, and you can still update to future updates with it.

How to install a PORTAL onto your PSP

INSTALLATION:
Unzip the zip file to the ROOT of your PSP's memory stick (the topmost folder, it has no name, it houses everything on the stick).

Once unzipped, you should see a "win" folder in the root directory, along with this readme. Feel free to delete this readme. To run the Windows PSPortal, go into your Web Browser and type:

file:/win/index.html

...and you will see a familiar screen for Windows users. You will have tons of easy accessibilty toyour favorite sites and basic games!

n00b tip: The ROOT folder is the topmost folder. Root means top, or the base. So, you would unzip everything to the place where you see PSP and possibly MP_ROOT. So you should see three folders: PSP, MP_ROOT, and Win.

WinPSPortal - ASR

Download: http://winpsportal.com/download.php
Multi Portal - usergentoo

From usergentoo: So when you go to type file:/rollout/home.html it will not connect This is because some zip programs will create a second directory so then you would type file:/rollout/rollout/home.html the best thing to do is check it before you add it to the PSP that way youll knowand if you do have the second drag and drop the inside folder to the PSPthat should clear things up a bit I hope.

Rollout version 1.0 is out so check it out
added new games

Have a fix for the refreshing problem should be a new version very soon you can still check out 1.0 and see if you like the progress

hack//DOH portal v0.01 - JDMSTARDOTNET

Portals thread:
http://boardsus.playstation.com/play...essage?board.i

d=psp&message.id=782098

Hack//DOH Portal has apparently been scrapped due to certain features not supported by the PSP at this point in time, however:
I will be recreating my portal, with some of the key features, just not the floating and task bar feature which i loved soo much, since im already finished with it.

Features that do work and has been tested are the following:

-Bg Rotation
-Will fix load times so that its faster then refreashing.
-Added GUI clock
-A file browser might be added but im not sure or keen on how it werks, like if you want to use the file browser then you must name it according to a naming convention i have setup: Ie: pic1.jpg.. and they all need to be one format, im going to use JPG **This is an idea** hadnt been implemented yet
-Txt editor/reader
-No games, not unless some1 can convince me otherwise
-Media portal Via my website (www.fightex.info/psp)

There is still more to be added.

*Note: v0.01 Hack//DOH is complete just not operational via PSP.. the new version im coming out with is: Hack//DOH v2 which will be specifcally for the psp. And yes it might just be like th rest, til v0.01 is released when sony updates browser for PSP
