I say we should try it...I mean, what's there to lose? If it doesn't work, oh well, we tried, maybe it'll get us one step closer to getting that key. What if it does work? It's not like $ony can change the encryption key, unless they want to recall every single PSP out there...

this has been said many times and it will work, just no one bothers to go further coz a few ppl say it wont work. Look at folding at home for example. Get the source code for tha tnad put in PSP encyption.

Im just sayin how it could be done, not how to do it becoz to be perfectly honest im fine with my 2.00 PSP with tonz of homebrew and my GTA, so i dont rly care :P

I have a PC to do my intereseting stuff on

OK well instead of making those sort of comments, lets see if we can be productive and take this further... First of all im going to presume no one knows the length of this key? If we had a length wed be half way there.

The idea of linking computers together to crack the code is highly do able, problem nº1 being that we are all talking about it on a pulic forum and it would be illegal for us to participate in.

Problem nº2 is finding a programmer who has the time to write a program to link all our comps to a central database, all trying to crack a single number, ( although now i think of it, not actually a huge, job, i could probably write something like that in php, and mysql, my problem comes when i have no knowlege of psp code, or how to hack it or anything, so i would need some one to write the code that is actually running on each computer (the one cracking the key ) i could then take the info ( i.e what number was tried and the result ) and send it to a online database..

any way very possible if any one could be bothered, im surprised this has never been taken any further.... But let me tell you there is probably a far easier way... I dont think its only sony that know this code, i beleive any game maker for the psp will also have to know it.(maybe im wrong ) but hacking isnt always about cracking code, sometimes u gotta pick up a phone and hack the person not the computer..just gotta find the right person
