software, what about hardware!!

ok i was talking to a friend the other day that knows abit bout hardware and shit and said like a pc's bios if it Fu*** up that i would reset it self from a backup.

would it be posible to do the same with a psp's flash i me can i open it cause the flash to flush have a 1.5 eboot on a ms and load that up when it resets .

about a week after getting my psp (jap 1.5) i updated without relising what i have done to 2.5 but i do remember it crashing once when i was on the web and it asking me to charge the battary a bit before i could continue, it then reinstalled 2.5 , which i allready had.

could this be the flash screwing up and resetting it's self

i am willing to brick this 2.5 and would buy a 1.5 again off ebay

iball over at pspupdates replied

"It's a valid point though: Sony can't be just tossing all those bricked PSPs it receives for repair, they MUST have an internal way of flashing the firmware quickly and painlessly.
Problem is, we just don't know HOW they are doing it! I find that the most frustrating since it's really hampering "experimentation" with attempts to modify the firmware.
Not that Sony wants anyone to mess with the firmware, but dammit, there HAS to be a better way."

so theres a way to repaire bricked psp with the right kit so........ (PULLS OUT HAMMER).... so repairing time..

Yep

There probably would be a way to do this. But i haven't seen much info about it.

Btw, its not that it re-intsalled the firmware, its just that it lost the settings

ok u r right. there is a way of flashing it painlessly and sony has the kit. I know there are ppl out there that know how to do this too, however only sony has the [u]vital[u] files therefore they are the only ones capable of doing it. The PSP has many secrets and it is possible, but only sony knows how, and has the right software and hardware to do it.

i anfd a few mates do electrpnics etc like hacking phones useing pic programmers etc.
the reason ppl have not done much on the hardware side, is because ppl don't give in there bricked psp's for use to try and use, i have been asking for a while.
