Microsoft is expected to launch a portable media device that will compete against Apple and dethrone the world's most popular MP3 player, the iPod. To add to the chaos, Microsoft will gun for Sony's PSP as well. Rumor says it would also play games, videos and music.

This is about as old as the ipod buddy.....There has also been many discussions on this board about it, you shouldve searched.

I think I read that somewhere as well. I think that microsoft has the potential to make something, a single portable device, that blows the ipod and PSP out of the water. I mean with unlimited funding and as much time as they need. Just think!

Why do you think they havent announced anything yet? If they did, people would keep pushing for a release date, and we all know what happens when somethings rushed, anyone played Halo 2?. I think they wanna take their time and see what critisizm the other devices get. From waiting they know that people WANT a hard drive, and good quality games. For me I really cant wait until they at least give us some specs.
