Codename Origami

o·ri·ga·mi
n. pl. o·ri·ga·mis

1. The art or process, originating in Japan, of folding paper into shapes representing flowers and birds, for example.
2. A decorative object made by folding paper.
3. Working title for portable gaming device currently under development by Microsoft.

Yes, you read that right! Microsoft is currently working on a portable gaming system! Many gamers have dreamed of a Microsoft handheld release while other have cringed at the thought. Regardless of your stance on the matter; Know that it is coming!

Video has surfaced on the web that displays a concept model of the system in action. The unit is seen being used to play music, doodle, surf the web and, best of all, PLAY HALO! It is apparent that the unit is not solely focused on the gaming market but rather aimed at being a complete portable media center. This would not only be competition for Sony and Nintendo's handheld systems but, competition for the Apple iPod as well.

What glares about the unit at first look is it's seemingly massive size compared to the PSP and DS Lite. Well, don't get your boxers in a bunch just yet! The video is at least a year old and the device shown is only a concept. You can bet that "Origami" will be slim and toned come game time.

Stay tuned to GameCrazy.Net for the latest developments. Also check out www.OrigamiProject.com for more information.

sick thanks for the information. Gonna be a tough call for me whether to buy psp 2 or this origami thing. Seeing as I have an xbox 360 if the support for the origami thing is good i might have to buy it. But i am still extremely loyal to Sony seeing as I have a psone and two as well as a psp. All of these new releases are gonna confuse consumers though, so im gonna have to try and choose the best one for me.

Yeah, I really liked that vid, but it is much too big. Haha and they try to sell it off as a portable mp3 player
