Talking Start learning C!

hey everyone i am about to start learning C for PSP, and i want to know a few things.

I know the very basics of LUA, alot of HTML, some PHP, some VB and a little java, but i now want to tackle C!

Here are my questions:
-Is there a difference between C and C++?
-Which is more commonly used in the homebrew?
-What is the BEST tutorial for learning it? (I want a PSP specific one)
-How long will it take to grasp the Basics?

1. There is a difference, for example C++ uses classes while C doesn't. I'd suggest C, but it's your choice really.
2. I guess C is more commonly used, but I don't know since not many people release their source code.
3. http://www.psp-programming.com/tutorials/
4. It really depends on how much time you spend on it, if you work on it 24/7 then a couple of days I guess.

that's not something i'm willing to do, but good idea.

the reason is that my dev partner knows lua in full, but not C! so im completing the circle.

thanks homer, you're a legend! lol

i will probably learn C, spending about 5 hours a day, so perhaps a few weeks? and the link you and lil3 gave me is great!

hey, im learning C also

and i think the best way to do this is first borrowing a book all about C programming on the comp first

then once ur familiar with C on the PC, then go onto the PSP

it is really complicated, and C is WAY different from psp's C. do the scriptscribbler (something like that) then learn regular C and compare

That is the right way of learning a language. A lot of kids here and in other forums think they can learn C overnight, and on the PSP as the first platform. Personally, I've coded in C for years on the PC/Unix platforms, and it took me years to get where I am now....
