Memory stick duo

Not sure if this is the right place to post this topic :-s its regarding the memory stick duo pro, with my 1.5 PSP on its way I was just looking for some advice.
I noticed that the sony stick loses around 80mb of space after format whereas the sandisk ones only lost around 20mb, both have around 80mb/s speeds so am I better off going for the sandisk??
Secondly is there any way to prevent the sony stick losing so much memory and why exaclty does it do this?
my final point is does anyone know where to get these at a good price I have had a look on google without much luck
Thanks for any help

I believe Sony and Sandisk should have the same amount of space after the approx. 60 mb they rob you of. Unfortunately, you missed your opportunity to get them real cheap in stores. On Black Friday, They were $30 for 512s everywhere, and I have only seen them going for around 50 now. Ebay is the only place i can find them for 30.

They dont loose any space after reformat. When you get it, it comes with alot less than what it says
