hi ..

I know that PSP requires a Wifi connection for the internet .. but is it possible to connect the psp to the Internet using the USB cable and play online games ?

Hey welcome to psp3d. That question has been asked numerous times, you probably don't know because you're new but we have a search button near the top, with it search threads before posting one to see if your question has been answered. Or use the best searc out there google. Google it first, people around here don't like to be asked the same question fifteen times. But to answer your question, no its not possible. But it isn't difficult to get a WiFi dongle if you have broadband! It costs about £30, and works well. You can get them from Amazon. I recommend the Nintendo one, as it had better reviews and works better. It should work with PSP - I'm not sure... You can get it here.

Wireless routers, though, are the way to go. They are just... great!

your pc has to be on though to go on it. Just get a router
