I live in Canada, and was going to go out and buy another psp tonight. I know my friend who bought one yesterday from a smaller store got 2.0. IF I buy it from walmart or futureshop, etc, which firmware will I end up with. Is there anyway to tell from the codes? The reson im getting another is because I have a 2.5, had a 1.5 but updated unknowingly. So unless a downgrader shows up tonight im gunna go out and buy another. So any idea what firmware ill get or how to tell wilout opening up the box? Thanks.

Points: 1.72 Donate | | I'm not sure about codes that tell you what firmware is on what, but your best bet is to do like your friend and find small retailers that have old stock. Odds are with the big chains they get frequent shipments and as a result will probably have > 2.0 firmware. Good luck  . |

Points: 0.18 Donate | | | If you go to walmart you will get atleast a 2.01 if not a 2.50 because they are constantly selling and bringing in new shipments and the newer the shipment the newer the FW......HOWEVER....should you find a little toy store that happens to have PSP but doesnt do as big a business as the likes of walmart then it is possible they may have a 2.0/1/5 in stock...but the chances are slim so you better start looking.....as for telling from codes on the box there is nothing that tells you what it is........ |
