I've seen a few people confused with ripping Daxter to a smaller size and playing it with Devhook, so I wrote this up to help out anybody I could.

All I did was rip it from umd with fastloader (split of course), rejoined on pc, then did the following with umdgen 3.02:

-Deleted update folder (duh).

-In the english subfolder of the dialogs folder, I chose 1869.at3 (about 6.5kb) as my relink source (right click on file to do that), and relinked all the files in all the subfolders (foreign language folders) of dialogs to that file.

-Next, in the movies folder, I chose guardcrash.pmf (about 571kb) as my relink source and relinked the following .pmf files from the movies folder to that one:
animatic
conceptart
credits
intro
makingof
insiderad
intro_french
intro_german
intro_italian
intro_korean
intro_spanish
intro_uk
(You can keep the intro.pmf (about 71mb)if you want the very beginning of the game intro movie to go along with the rest of the in game movies, but you don't need any of the foreign language stuff, unless you don't understand english) I also relinked the scotland_intro.pmf thinking it was another intro movie, but I don't think it was so you might not want to relink that one. But if you don't care about any of the in-game (level transition) movies, relink them all and you'll save even more room.

-Then I saved my .ISO image and compressed it to .CSO with ISO Compressor v1.1.

-Then just load with Devhook v0.44 with a 2.71fw emu (no need to change any prx files, but not sure if 2.60 emu works) and enjoy!

It's a fairly simple process with an end result of a 466mb rip of Daxter (a little bigger if you don't relinkd the scotland_intro.pmf and/or keep the intro.pmf like i mentioned, around 550mb, give or take). All this shouldn't affect the gameplay at all. It hasn't for me yet. Hope this is helpful for anybody confused about ripping Daxter.
