2.00 Downgrade Error

Hey, I know I'm not usually the one to ask for help, but I need some help here.

My brother recently got a 1.51 PSP. I updated it to 2.00, ran the downgrade TIFF, and I restarted the PSP 1 min later. I then went to run the 1.50 US update. But it came up with the following error:
Quote:
The system update cannot be started.
The update program is not applicible for your system.
(80000025)
I had the idea of updating to 2.5, then downgrading. But would the resulting firmware work with custom firmware? I have been a little wary since Cobra1343 (or whatever the numbers are) bricked his PSP.

WOW, i never heard of that error happening from the Tiff downgrade, and ive done it SOOOO many times, but go to the system software, and does it say 1.0, if it does than i dont see why the 1.50 upgrade wont start, but if it just says "Version" and nothing after it then there was an error when it was flashing the index.dat, which can be fixed easily, either by doing the Tiff exploit again, or by using the Tiff eloader to run a flashing program

That's what I'm gonna do - It's at 2.50 now, and I'm installing the d/g through Xtrusion's auto-installer.

EDIT: My heart's gonna explode, it's beating so fast... The MS light is blinking... Downdater's doing it's stuff... I fuŁking hope this works...
EDIT 2: Woo! It worked! My face is saved from the horrible beatings of my brothers fist!

It would be interesting to know where you downloaded your copy of 2.0 from. Good luck with the auto-installer downgrader.

I got it from QJ, but that is where I got my copy of the downgrade from for my PSP, and that worked with no errors.

yeah, but he said he upgraded to 2.0 from 1.51... and im guessing if it can run 1.51 it can run 1.5... and i wouldnt worry about doing the same thing as me, since we know how to fix what happened to me now...

but i would just do what jasa said just in case
