My Mood: | | | | | SemiBricked? Hey all,
Great guide - right up until updating to 3.02 OE-B semi-bricked my PSP. (2.60 -> 2.71 -> 1.50 -> 3.02 OE-A -> 3.02 OE-B) The XMB seems to run OK, but my system info shows a bunch of Japanese characters for firmware version, and resetting default settings doesn't fix it. More importantly, nothing wants to run, not from the GAME150 or GAME320 menu - not even the oeflasher. I CAN run it from recovery, and re-flashed back to OE-A (kept my DATA.DXAR file) - but the firmware version still shows Japanese characters. More importantly, nothing runs - not even UMD games. The same thing happens no matter what I try to run - I get the PSP swirly screen, it feeezes for a bit, then the PSP powers off.
Suggestions? Back to 1.50?
And dumb question: under 3.02 OE (A or B) how are you SUPPOSED to run EBOOT's? From the game menu? Do you need HEN installed and running? Does eLoader still run? I've sort of lost the forest for the trees here...
Doubleposted Message Below:
So I used the Generic Downgrader in the RECOVERY menu to reinstall 1.50, and everything works fine - as 1.50 (so limited UMD support - I guess 1.50 is fine for exclusively homebrew, but not much else). I updated back to 3.02 OE-*A* again, and had the same problem - nothing runs right. Used the downgrader again, and have a stable 1.50 again. I don't want to go back to 2.71, but I don't know what else to do - it looks like the sweetness of 3.02 is going to be denied me. Any suggestions?
(By the way, assuming I ever *DO* get 3.02 OE-B running, and the accompanying ability to run PSX games, is there any legal way to get the Hotshots Golf game from the Playstation store, is I DON'T have a PS3?)

First of all, I HAVE INTERNET AGAIN!
Secondly, all eboots should be in folders (If you are using 3.02 OE, I suggest sticking most eboots except for demos and so forth in your /psp/game150/something folder. Or you can stick the eboot inside of /psp/game/something.) Anything in (/psp/game150) runs as if it was on the 1.50 firmware, anything inside (/psp/game) by default or (/psp/game302) runs as if on the 3.02 firmware.
Any eboots inside either (/psp/game), (/psp/game150), or (/psp/game302) will show up under the game menu. You do not need Hen or Eloader, although both will work still. I updated back to 3.02 OE-*A* again, and had the same problem - nothing runs right. Used the downgrader again, and have a stable 1.50 again. Try sticking your homebrew inside folders inside of (/psp/game150). See if that does it. |

My Mood: | | | | | No Joy Nope. I can see stuff in GAME, GAME150, or GAME 302 - but nothing runs right. In fact, I can't even run UMD's. No matter what I try to run, I get the swirly PSP screen, followed by a freeze and a reboot. I also keep getting the blue screen of death at random intervals, and EVERY time I try to access the System Settings menu. This is with 3.02 OE-A installed on 1.50. (1.50 is stable, but I can't play any of my UMD's under 1.5!)
I tried a complete re-install. I re-made my DATA.DXAR file, but I ended up with the same MD5 checksum - which was the same as posted by another user. Re-installed 3.02 OE-A with that DATA.DXAR, the installer says everything's fine, reboot, same problems. (This is with eLoader and HEND completely removed.) Basically, 3.02 is NOT running right on my system. I'm confused. |

Points: 4.40 Donate | | | I downloaded, renamed and moved the 1.5 and 3.02 eboots to the correct folder. What program do I run in order to make DATA.DXAR?
Run OEupdMaker from the game menu. I downloaded the zipped 3.02 OE-A firmware and unzipped to the /psp/game/oeupdmaker folder.
Sorry, dont unzip it to there... unzip it to (/psp/game/), so that the oeFlasher stuff is inside the game folder. I have no idea how to run the "3.02 OE-A Firmware Install" program. It would have shown up in the game menu had you unziped the program to (/psp/game/) instead of (/psp/game/oeupdmaker)...
Sorry if I was missleading. |

My Mood: | | | | | Success! Had a breakthrough! Turns out that the various tweaks you can do through the recovery menu survive re-flashing. I finally noticed that when I flashed back up to 3.02 OE-A from 1.50, the SCE sound and logo went away. I realized that I had set that tweak when I first installed 3.02. Went back into recovery, and turned off all the plugins and reset all the tweaks. Restored defaults, everything's hunky-dory. Upgraded to 3.02 OE-B, no problems. So now I'm running 3.02 OE-B and everything works right. SWEET!
HUGE thanks to TheAceOfFire for spending so much time helping me out! Now, where did I put all my old PSX games?
ADDENDUM: Just converted "Driver" using Popstation - works! MWUAHAHAHAHAH!

| | | | Little help long way for community... I will repost. 2.71 HEN-D ---> 1.5 ---> 3.03OE-A --->3.03OE-B
1) Noticed a glitch in 3.03OE-B: The date/time and battery level keep flashing between different ways of it being displayed. Goes back to normal after rebooting but does happen again occasionally. Has anyone else noticed this? What may be causing it? I mainly want to make sure this is documented so it can be addressed by the community.
2) Can anyone provide a list of hot keys for 3.03OE-B. Such as holding down right when booting brings you to the recovery menu....
3) What is the percentage of ISO's that can be played without UMD under 3.03OE? I have found a few games play without UMD but other freeze and need a UMD to emulate loading. Is this a known problem?
4) Anyone got a link for the best universal remote prog that will run under 3.03OE-B? I'm having trouble d/l as I'm sitting on severed lines from the south east asian earthquake.
Thanks to all in the PSP community!
Cheers,
