Hi there, I'm Chrixxy new to the site but been lurking a while lol. I'm quite proud to say that I have managed to change the firmware on the psp from 2.60 > 2.71 and now to 1.5 whey!! (I'm proud cos I'm not the best with dealing with technical stuff like this!) I've installed DevHook v0.46. I've managed to also get a super mario game on there by locating to files i downloaded and copying them into the games folder. That seems to play ok.

There is a folder there for ISO files and I have to ISO games in there but I can not get them to load. I have been into devhook setting and played around a little but still no joy, on one occasion (when in firmware version 1.50 flash) a graphic for the game came up by a UMD icon but I couldn't get it to load as it told me "To start, you need to update the system software" I then went into the devhook setting and tried all the different firmware setting.. In the highest firmware setting (2,71) it told me I corrupt data on my memory card but showed nothing in the UMD section. And with all the other firmware settings it just turned off the PSP. From what I've read the other settings are not really to be played with.. im doing reboot xmb.. If theres anything else I can let you know in order for u to help then just let me know.

I'm getting so confused/fustrated

done lots of reading and don't seem to be getting anywhere fast. My plan is to give my son a psp with a load of games on for Xmas day, and I've less than 24 hrs!! please help! also if you could recommend/give links to some things for me to put on for a 7 yr old I greatly appreciate it! I got a load of lovely torrents for him.. Fingers crossed u guys can help me get them to play..

ok, first up did you use ultimate installer to install devhook 0.46 with firmware 2.71?

no problem, ok here are the settings I use to "make devhook work" (we're not allowed to talk about ISO's).

Firmware: 2.71
CPU clock: 222MHz (usually works fine)
Boot Select: Reboot XMB

Oh and btw you did go to "Flash Rom" and then "<ms0: install config file" didn't you?

OH yeah and welcome to PSP3D and merry christmas eve

if these settings don't work i reccomend you re-install devhook.

I have formatted memory and reinstalled devhook a couple of times with no change to my problem..

but will try again now and check that all my setting are as u said and then let you know if I get anywhere)

Could I also add a second question... I have some homebrew games that I can not get to work I think the reason why is because they only come in one eboot file.. and I'm not sure what I should do with it.The homebrew games that I can get to work have 2 files and one of those has a % mark next to it...

you need a program called kxploit for your pc which creates the second eboot folder for you. get that HERE

I just managed to use xploit to split a file however when I tried to load the file in the psp all i got was a black and white screen which had a couple of stripes.. any idea what I done wrong?
