sorry these may seem kinda noobish me just having gotten a PSP but i cant seem to find them answered anywhere else.

Ok so apparently u can run downloaded UMDs off a memory card or something with firmware 1.5 or something. not that im gonna do this right. but yeah mine came with 2.5 already installed. so firstly it would be easier and safer right to upgrade to 2.71 and use this so called generic downdater or whatever its called that Dark Alex has made right? (rather then this process of finding someone else with 1.5 and something to do with GTA LCS or something)

Also once its downdated to 1.5 yeah u can play these commercial games and emulators and homebrew and all this right, well if i was to upgrade to this new 3.02 Custom firmware by dark alex would this still allow me to play commercial games (backups) via memory card duo aswell as emulators and homebrew? cuz id like to play my ps1 games on it aswell as run some of my backup umds
