PSX to EBOOT creator help (pictures)

hey, was wonderin if anyone could help me with the custom pictures side of things (making it so it isn't the hot shots 2 picture in xmb menu) i tried but it says the pictures need to be resized. Anyone got any idea how big they have to be? and is it talking about size as in image size or as in file size? Thanks in advance
