Exclamation POPS, Black screen after PS Logo

Howdy! Currently running 3.03 OE-C but for some reason i cant seem to get my PS1 games to run in POPS... currently using Autopopstation 4 and PALadin on Final Fantasy IX Disk1. after following all the instructions in autopopstation i move my ff9.iso folder to my PSP/GAME directory and then run the new app in my games menu.. after showing some text it goes into the PS logo.. then it fades to darknes.. and stays like that. it seems to keep using the memory stick every few seconds but no matter how long i leave it it never seems to go any further, so i use PALadin on it tell it to do the standard conversion.. creates the ISO and i then use autopopstation again, same thing happens.

Not sure whats up or if im doing something wrong.. tried using FF7 disk 1 also.. but after about 400KB of writing to the ISO it seems to unmount my DVD drive and cant read my disk have to reboot to get my disk drive back :\

I came back to 3.03 OE-C from 3.10 OE-A' cecause i read a few places aroud the net that there were issues with running POPS? only difference was that using the sime files with 3.10 didnt cause the memory stick to be used on the black screen.

Anyone able to help me out here? (i did follow the autopopstation instructions to the letter more than once)

Hope to hear from ya'll soon

-Dragona

Edit: oh and i can accress the menu by pressing th home button to toggle controls, adjusct screen mode and quit.

I'm using 3.10 OE A, although I haven't tried any of the FF games yet, it's worked perfectly with the games that I have tried (except for Castlevania SOTN wich has some miner graphics errors) The only time I had the black screen problem you describe, it was because the iso I was using was bad. Making new clean rip from my cd fixed the problem. Not with the ripper included with popstation though - that thing crashed my pc when I tried to use it. Instead I used nero and a prog called nrg2iso to convert it into a standard iso format.

Also, from what I've read, 3.10 is actually supposed to to fix the pal emulation so you shouldn't need to us PALadin with it.

i have also had this problem with ff8 and 9, youre going to have to find a site which will let you download these, but i will not give you this as it would be breaking rules. Right i have talked to PJ about this, aparently AutoPopstation and other extraction tools dont extract fully, within final fantasy 8 and final fantasy 9 there are MD5 files, some extraction tools skip these files and extract the other files, fortunatley ff7 does not contain the MD5 files, to fix this you can either do any of the following

1) Find a site that alowws you to download a legitimate copy of youre game
2) find another extraction tool
3) urm well just continue life and play youre other games

Got FF7 to work by using ISO Buster, and got FF9 working by applying a PPF file to it.. unfortunately it also had a trainer in the PPF so i see that every time too ;.; gonna see how far i can get now (in the ebil forest D: )

why did you downgrade back to 3.03oe-a ?
if it was a case of higher compatability from 3.03 pops you can use the 3.10 pops emulator that lets you use 3.00-3.11 pops
