hmm.. all I can say is that at the sizes I've used so far the edges always look sharp (unless it's a really small size) whether it's because it uses anti-aliasing or something else I couldn't tell you

i guess it does then. if they look smooth and sharp it's all good.

I looked into this a little, and if I understand what I've read, then true type fonts don't actually store static images of the letters, but instead actually store a series of commands which tell the font software how to draw them.

yes, that's the difference between vector graphics and bitmap graphics. It's much better, coz you can make stuff whatever size you want with out loosing quality
