Running 333mhz in snes emu- Is it bad?

HI, i was playing the snes emulator and ran it at 333mhz and noticed it played a little better. I am not sure but it may be overclocking the psp and wanted to know if the could cause any damage? Thanks!

It's completely harmless, as the PSP's clock speed is 333 mhz.

Think of it as a cup of water - Sony filled it only two-thirds of the way up, so it's lighter but there's not much of it (i.e. the emulator runs slower but it drains the battery slower), while we can fill it up, it makes the cup heavier but there's more water to drink (i.e. the emulator runs faster but it drains the battery faster).

And he explains very well too!

So, it shouldn't do any harm to your PSP since it was originally created to run at 333mhz. But everyone was asking for more battery life and sony noticed that most games run very well at 222mhz. The CPU clock started running at that speed since the 1.50 FW.

End of Story
