Points: 150.18 Donate | | | [Tutorial] High Quality XMB Icons In this Tutorial I will show you how to make a high quality 8-bit XMB Icon. Things you will need:
Photoshop
RCO Editor
Access to Flash0
1. Make an Icon then open it in Photoshop.
2. Click Image -> Mode -> RGB Color 2a. Make sure your Icons are the correct size. Open your topmenu_plugin.rco in RCO Editor to see the size needed. 3. When you get the Icon the way you like it click File -> Save For Web.
4. Save it as a PNG-8. Make sure it is 256 Colors. This way you will not make you image look bad.
5. Open your new PNG.
6. Click File -> Save As...
7. Make it a BMP. By default it will be an 8-bit file.
Now you have a high quality bmp file. I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but it really does work. |

Points: 150.18 Donate | | | RCO Editor will not accept 32-bit. And all of my 8-bit icons were much smaller than the 32-bit ones. With this tut, you still get the same quality as a 32-bit bmp. |

Points: 150.18 Donate | | | Open your current topmenu_plugin.rco with RCO Editor and go to the icon you want to replace. Under the preview, it will have the required dimensions. I think the default is 64x64. That is what I made mine. |
