Question Let's desticky some threads.

^_^ So I am looking at the tutorial list, and I feel like it could use some cleaning up...

Please excuse me if I sound harsh to anyone.

Some suggestions:
1. Please, someone change my thread's name "Pimp my PSP! (1.5+2.71 firmware on same psp) " to "Pimp my PSP! (1.5+current firmware on same psp) "... I wasn't expecting so many updates when it was originally made, and it bothers me...

2. The "How To Cheat Locoroco" thread only applies to the press release of the game, not the actual retail version... so unless it gets updated soon, it might be a good idea to remove it from the list.

3. "The Ultimat Guide To Dark_AleX's Custom Firmware" has not been updated since 07-29-2006 at 12:24 PM, and might confuse some people... If The Ex updates this at some point, it would probably help noobs. Oh, and its a VERY nice looking tutorial by the way.

4. The Firmware Comparison Chart needs to be updated... I tried my hand at it, but you know how bad I am at this sort of thing. You can see my version here...

5. I like DorkDork777's "Setting up 2.71 SE-A!" thread, would like him to update it to current if possible, and the thread renamed to "Setting up your Custom Firmware!"... Just because very few people actually use 2.71 SEA anymore.

6. That lazy TheAceOfFire hasn't updated "[Tutorial] How to customize your PSP! " in a while. Although the stuff on using gimp and so forth IS still usefull, and it still works for 3.03 and so forth, it isn't COMPLETELY useless... annoyingly stale at this point though. ^_^

7. "Pimp your PSP!" by pj1115 doesn't get as much credit as he deserves. His tutorial is detailed, easy to understand, and updated recently. Thumbs up man, thumbs up.

8. I don't know if "PSP 2.5/6 Downgrader Guide - 100% Clear English" is still needed. Most psp's will be either 3.03 or 2.80 at this point, and the 2.80 downgrader is safer for people with TA motherboards I think... Anywho, just tossing that out there. This one might need to be unstickied.

9. ^_^ Ah, PSPv1.00's "How to Use and install Devhook - Settings & Files Included " I would love him to update this for 3.03 guys emulating 3.10 and so forth, but it is still useful and clear, needing only a few updates here and here.

10. "2.71 SE C and Devhook .51 tutorial" by me. Old, useless, toss it. Someone unsticky this thing, cause 2.71 is REALLY not recent... I think DorkDork777 does a better job anywho.

11. "Setting up 2.71 SE-" by FreeJ is not needed. Covered several times already, and the name makes it hard to update... Might wanna unsticky this one too.

12. "[GUIDE] Getting PMP's on to your PSP" by blackbird is straight forward, looks nice. I would love to see an update, because it is old, but since the topic doesn't change fast, this might be ok...

13. "Using homebrew on 1.5" Straight forward and honest. No real need to update since the topic is pretty static. Good work dorkdork777.

14. Beginner FAQ Sheet could use updating, but its fine. Has a lot of data.

15. How to Install the GTA:VCS cheat device 2.0a on 2.71 SE-B'' Oi, my head... Not only did they restrict themselves to one game and one firmware, but it is not going to be easy to update it because they put it in the name... Not to mention it is now kinda replaced by the SEPlugins folder in the custom firmware. It is easier to make a new tutorial than update/fix this one. Vote to desticky.

16. "[tutorial] how to make a gta cover [tutorial]" has the same problem: Too specific. Not only does it make people think that it is only for GTA, it doesn't suggest any free/cheap programs for the average person to do it, meaning those without photoshop might have a problem. Sorry, gonna vote to desticky.

17. "[Tutorial] LUA: The Begginer Lesson" has a typo in the name, no big deal. He also went a tad nuts with some of the colors in the tutorial, easy to fix. I would like to see an update, but THANKS for making a tutorial on this topic! Kudos to rikardo_92.

18. "Guide: Converting Homebrew For Devhook" Is beyond me. I have no clue how to judge it. You guys decide if it stays stickied or not.

19. "Installing Custom Firmware" is old. DorkDork777 did a great job, but the thing that is the focus of the tutorial sorta died once the other custom firmwares were released. Sorry dude, I suggest desticky.
***EDIT***
From DorkDork777: {Because two of the stickies overlap}
So I would like one of them to be deleted, preferably "Installing Custom Firmware", as I've already deleted the guide part without making a backup (stupid me).

**********

20. "PSP Mouse Guide" is nice. Don't know. You guys decide if it should stay here or not. I kinda want it, but an update would be AWESOME.

21. "Get rid of currupted icons guide" is no longer needed. Unsticky or update. And it better be one heck of an update, cause most of this is covered I think in other above tutorials. ^_^ Desticky.

22. "chriscooke109's DevHook Setup Guide" is old, and already covered TWICE above. Since it has not been updated in a long, LONG time, desticky it.

23 "Ultimate Beginners guide part 1" needs to be either updated or destickied. The name is misleading.

The point is, we have so many stickied threads that people's posts are getting lost before we can see them... lets clean some of this mess out.

I agree with you. I'll update the two threads that need updating from me (Setting up 2.71 SE-A! and Installing Custom Firmware). But there is an error:

Sure, I like credit, but I don't want credit on something I didn't make. That thread is pspv1.00's, so please edit your post accordingly.

EDIT: Just noticed something. If I updated "Setting up 2.71 SE-A!" and "Installing Custom Firmware" to the latest firmwares, they would both be the same guides. So I would like one of them to be deleted, preferably "Installing Custom Firmware", as I've already deleted the guide part without making a backup (stupid me).

I was looking on there and one of my threads got stickied. I feel special. It was the one about launching eboots from other XMB icons.

Just re-read the entire first post, and thought I'd give my opinions on each of the stickies...

1) Stay, update the title please mods.
2) Unsticky
3) Unsticky
4) Update.
5) Update. (Yes, I'll try to get round to it before New Year's.)
6) Stay/update.
7) Stay.
8) Hmm... There are still some 2.5/2.6s around, but not many... I don't know.
9) Update
10) If it's your thread, it's your decision.
11) Unsticky.
12) Update/stay.
13) I'll try and update it to cover a little more.
14) Update/stay.
15) Unsticky.
16) Hmm... We need a place for Photoshop tuts.
17) I don't know Lua, so I don't know how good it is.
18) Sorry pj, but I vote unsticky.
19) Delete.
20) Read what I say in it. He didn't even make the tutorial, he just copied it from the readme! Delete/unsticky.
21-23) Update/unsticky.

Sorry about being brief in the above opinions, and sometimes a bit harsh, but those are my opinions.

Heh, I agree that my "Pimp your PSP!" thread is underrated, but I think my converting homebrew for Devhook guide is still usefull, though it's complicated. You can use the same method for converting homebrew to run under the 2.71/3.xx kernel, for OE and so-forth, if you were to play homebrew from GAME3xx or your kernel was set to 3.xx.

Also, sorry to disagree, but I don't think it's any one of our responsibilities
to decide on or even judge the content of the forums. Besides, I believe the site is due for a cleanup soon enough.

Whatever...

TBH, I never got your Devhook homebrew guide to work, that's why I voted it down. Sorry, but that's the truth. If someone else got it to work though, I'll change my mind.
