| | | | Is my PSP downgradable, slight confusion with firmware Hi all, I've had my PSP since Dec '05, it isn't a TA082 model (no text) but I vaguely recall updating the firmware when I first got it in order to play a game (Harry potter IIRC!), the firmware now says it's at 2.60 but I'm fairly sure this isn't the factory set level, will this cause any issues? I've read lots on the subject in order to try and avoid annoying noob questions but there are so many permutations of what to do/not to do I'm losing the will to live! Could anyone guide me to a step by step guide that would suit my psp please, ultimately I'm looking to run image files directly from a memory card, not really interested in emulators and whatnot.
Am I right in believing that a "Dark Alex" mod allows you to switch between 1.50 and 3.0?
I have a copy of GTA:LC too.
Many many thanks in advance,

| Dark_AleX's game firmware is actually BOTH 1.50 AND 3.03 (or 3.10) combined together. You don't NEED to switch, although it does allow you to downgrade if you want.
If you want to "run image files" from a 2.60, stick your pics in the folder sp\images I believe... a folder should exist there. |

Now you need this, that'll get you to 3.03OE-C. I asume by Images you mean ISO's. ISO's are not allowed to be discussed on this site, sorry. |

I'd normally jump in with both feet and try things out but with the very real prospect of bricking my lil PSP I'm a bit cagey about it! I don't mean picture files btw but I understand this can't be talked about, but I'd just the option of doing it, not that I ever would as it is illegal.
Thanks,
Lucy. |

If someone can give me a quick 1-on-1 from start through to completion I'll paypal them £10 (around $20), maybe via MSN or something, just guide me through each step and verify the US files etc will work on my UK spec psp, I assume it won't take long?

Many thanks in advance.

Ok, I'm now down to 1.50 (2.71 was easy, the downgrade caused panic, locked up in the photo section before going red, left for ages and had to pull battery in the end, luckily it rebooted so I formatted card and did the 2.71->1.50 installer again but this time it succeeded)
Is 3.03 OE-C the best firmware to go to now for most flexibility?

I went for 3.10OE-A and then to the bugfix 3.10OE-A2 (A'), not too fussed about customising anything, purrrrrfect now
Can happily run my usual UMDs, play demos and look at all of my "picture" files very happily, superb!
Cheers all,
