Well, you can get a modchip installed, buy a new PSP, or you could cry. Plenty of choice then.

But seriously, the chances of bricking are really low, as long as you set it up correctly.

It won't brick. I've done done it a few times and I know a handful of people who have done it without any issues whatsoever.

Good luck and welcome to PSP3D!

randomx, dont say it "cant" brick just because it hasnt happened to you or your friends. the truth is, it can brick, but as long as the battery is charged and u dont pull it out during the downgrade, it will be fine.

So beside battery failure during up/downgrading what else causes bricking?

Lack of luck, I guess?

Seriously though, that's about it.

You should be fine. If you follow all the instructions correctly, there's really nothing that can go wrong.

However, given that there is still a very, very slight risk that something might go awry, if your PSP means everything to you and without it you feel like you might die, I wouldn't suggest it.

Tampering with your PSP is always your responsibility, and no one elses. You decide if it's worth the risk, even if there's only a 0.01% the "bad" may happen.

Go for it. I was like you once. I didn't want to risk my PSP installing an OE but when i did it went fine and I'm hapy with my PSP now. The OE firmware unlocks the PSP's true potential
