confused

I have read LOTS of forums and am completely confused. I believe that the root of my confusion stems from reading outdated info.

The first thing I did was downgrade to version 1.5.
I then ran across a lot of articles talking about homebrew applications ways to use them. I also ran across a devhook program.

At this point in time I am not sure if I should try to upgrade and then get a homebrew application or use devhook?? I just want to be able to enjoy my psp to the fullest. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

I highly recomend upgrading to the custom firmwares by a coder named Dark_Alex, such as 3.40 OE. It'll let you run any homebrew you like and play any of the newer games and make your own PS1 games for your PSP and much much more. It doesn't get any fuller then that. Dev hook is great, but with the OE firmwares, it's been religated back to just being a development tool. So if you want the best of both the world of homebrew and have the advantages of the latest official Sony firmware, OE is the way to go. If you need more help, just ask the friendly people here. Welcome to PSP3d!

Thanks for the info. I will go that route then. I will be glad when I get this stuff down. Thanks to everyone else who posts and replies on these forums, I am sure that I speak for many when I say that you all answer a lot of our questions for us.

Welcome to the HB community. I personally Like 3.03 OE-C the best. But it is up to u. Unless u really need the lastest FW 3.40 for a game. W/ 3.03 OE-C it has the best custom XMB compactiblity and it is easy to do.

These are the best places to download the latest homebrew:
psp-homebrew
and
QJ - PSP Section

This is Dark_AleX's Official Site for the latest updates of his OE custom firmwares...

Otherwise you can count on me to update the PSP3D homepage with homebrew updates and releases! Welcome.

if you are looking for some good homebrew I highly suggest Trigonomty Wars. It's alot of fun. I also suggest SNES9x. Just remember you can't ask for roms on this site. It's against the rules.

Thanks everyone.
I now have 3.40 OE-A

I am still having problems with files not loading though.
Any ideas? Anyplace out there with instructions on how to get different file types to work with this?
Thanks

Sorry, but it's against the rules to talk about ISOs and stuff like that.
