| | | | Help! I screwed up. I was following the Pimp my PSP tutorial and I skipped a step.
"5. This step is only for TA-082 and TA-086 PSP's. Execute "TA082 IdStorage Changer" from your GAME, MEMORY STICK folder. It will change some keys in your IDStorage, and allow you to downgrade safely. If you do not have a TA-08X psp, just go to next step.
6. Run the program "Update X.YZ" from your Game Folder. You need 75% power or more in your battery. When it finishes, it will ask you to press X. Press X.
Step 1. (For 1.50) Go to the below link, and download the "Firmware 3.40 OE - A" Zip. Unzip to your game folder (/psp/game/). It comes with instructions, but heck, why not write them again:
Dark_AleX's Firmware 3.40 OE-A
Step 1.a Get a copy of the eboots to update the psp to 1.5 and 3.40, and rename them to : 150.PBP and 340.PBP.
Place these two files inside the folder (/psp/game/oeupdmaker). Run the program by going to your game menu and selecting "3.40 OE-A UPDATE MAKER".
This doesn't write to flash, it just makes a file called DATA.DXAR inside the folder (/psp/game/oeupdmaker).
Step 1.b Move this new DATA.DXAR file to the folder (/psp/game/340oeflasher), and make sure your psp is charged ABOVE 75% (100 is fine)."
I was at Step 1b (Ran 3.40 OE-A update maker), and I realised I could not find the DXAR file. Then I looked back, and I realised I missed step 6!
It would not allow me to do step 6 (I got an error, I can't remember what it is). I tried looking at HEN multiple times, but instead of the PSP giving a black screen or shutting down, it freezes instead. I tried the Cube demo, and it would not run either.
So I formatted my memory stick, and re-loaded 1.50 Eboot, Hen D hacked to work with 2.80, 2.80 Downgrader. My PSP still freezes when I ltry to look at HEN.
I tried restoring to factory settings. HEN still freezes my PSP when I look at it. I tried re-flashing 2.80, but the system tells me I can't do that because it is already installed.

Try reinstalling HEN again to see if that works. Or if you have GTA:LCS the unpatched verison that is the one w/ the 2.00 update on it, then you can try to upgrade to 3.03 then downgrade the PSP from there. By using the GTA:LCS. But remember only the unpatched verison of GTA:LCS works! |

| | | | OK, so I was lucky enough to get a copy of GTA LCS unpatched. I upgraded to 3.03. I followed steps 1-5 of the tutorial.
Step 6. Start GTA. It should get to "loading savegame", then the screen will clear to black and fill with a light blue color, then the PSP will reset itself.
This does not happen. GTA just starts, and the game runs normally (goes through the intros, and then the first mission begins).
For step 7, I went to the system settings and checked if Hen was running, and it was not.
Any ideas out there? Do I actually need a savegame? |

| | | | "Step 4. Install the 3.03 Downgrader by unzipping it to the root of your memory stick (Like to E:\ or G:\, where your psp is)"
This was the problem. You actually need to overwrite the dgr PSP directory on top of the one on your card.
Now I can't install 340.oea. I keep getting SHA-1 errors. I tried formatting my card. It won't work.
Maybe I'll try 330.oea and see if I have better luck.

No good. That failed SHA-1 as well.
Maybe it's my Memory Stick, but it's a Sony (4GB). I'm pretty sure it's legit.
Any ideas out there?

Go into Information, then please tell us whether MagicGate is supported or not. If it isn't (or if it says Unknown) that could be the problem, and you'll need to get a new one. |

I had tried this, but I downgraded to 1.5. Doesn't mention Magicgate, just User Capacity and Free Space.
It's a "Sony" card (came in Sony packaging and everything, looks like the exact same card in the store, but I got it off Ebay), and it says Magicgate on the card.
I'm trying to get a 1 gig card just to do the flashing.
