VSHMAIN.prx corrupted!!!

After installing the new CF 1.62 IE-C Update 3 my PSP rebooted and went to a black screen saying VSHMAIN.prx corrupted, reboot psp and go into recovery mode... blah blah blah! Well i dont know how to use the recovery mode that well i guess cause after it rewrites the VSHMAIN.prx i reboot psp and i still get the message. How can i fix this. I am guessing it was a f***ed install on my part.

Thank You
DFL

when i hold "select" i get
For coonect de psp via usb press []

Press "start" to exit

put dark_alex's generic downgrader into irecovery folder (from oe upgrades RECOVERY folder) and put the 1.50 firmware (rename to UPDATE.PBP first) and copy into the irecovery folder then run the run program at /psp/game/irecovery/eboot.pbp making sure the eboot.pbp is the generic downgrader (with downgraders prx's aswell) and the file update.pbp is in there (was the 1.50 update) it should then re-install 1.50 firmware and restore your psp to former glory.

You can use the instructions from the OE updaters about recovery options just remember that the recovery folder is named as accordance to the recovery mode. i.e. you stated its "irecovery" and OE is just "recovery".

best of luck

ok well i am dumb i guess and can not get it to work. Can you be more specific i guess. I am getting a bit confused. Would I be able to put a 2.0/2.5 fw eboot in the recovery and upgrade to that and just turn around and downgrade? I did what you said or what i could understand to do and i still get the booting to black screen with the error. It doesnt boot to he eboot.pbp downgrader. I did put the 1.5 fw eboot in the recovery folder and didnt rename it cause nothing else was working and i was curious it did boot to a 1.5 upgrading screen but could not do so cause the file was corrupted. so that gives me hope that if i can do this right i can boot to something. i suck with the file structure. to many folders with the same name. not sure if i copy the same eboot to both folders or just the 1 folder.

Thank you
DFL

ok i fixed it. I couldnt get the generic downgrader to work. so what i did was get the 1.5 to 1.0 DOWNDATER and found a 1.0 dowdater dump. renamed folders to IERECOVERY and so forth and did a successful downgrade to 1.0. so now i can boot the PSP back to the xmb thank you for the ideas.

DFL IS HAPPY AGAIN!
