How to clean your psp's hardware

Hi all I am having a bit of trouble w/ my D-pad on my PSP. I think it maybe dirty or sticky or something. So I was wondering wat is the best methood to cleaning out your PSP. I think my D-Pad might need some cleaning. It also delays sometimes when I press it. Especially, in the XMB. any suggestions are welcome.

humm... You can try using a condenced air can and using it around the D-pad button. Hopefully it should help make it work better again.

So you say the XMB response to the button press is delayed? Does it feel like theirs grit or somthing under the pad?

Yes it is delayed. Humm.. Let me check. No it doesn't feel like something is stuck or anything. But when I look closely at it, it seems like there is some dirt on the D-Pad buttons itself on the sides. Maybe that is the prob but not sure though. Anyway to get rid of it? Or clean it out?

What you could do is poor a small bit of 99% rubbing alcohol into the cracks of the D-Pad. Then dry with Q-Tip. And let the PSP site for a good hour or two to ensure dryness.

I would also try spraying a tad of WD40 in the cracks; might work up the plastic a bit.
