Ps3 Remote Play??

My Psp is on 3.40oe firmware can i connect it to my ps3 becuase it wont register it. I connect it using the usb cable and go into usb mode then i press the register psp device on my ps3 yet it doesnt recognise anything.

It lets me watch videos and play music off it though..
