thats what I think. Heres the story of how it all started: one day I was charging it on the table, and the cable was a littlestreched. Well just next to the table was a metal model car. What happened was I had a friend over, he triped on the cable, the PSP flew off the table, and landed on the model car. Because of that i have a small crack on the faceplate, and the charger in the psp has never been the same.

Wait, so your saying it knly restats while its charging? If so, you should have no problem downgrading with a full battery. I do it all the time.

ok bono. well the thing is while the battery is in and charging, it restarts at random. when the battery is out and it is pluged in, it does the same thing, just more often.

I said a few posts ago that the whole downgrading process was done on my end without a power cable, so you don't need one, just a battery with over 75% charge.

Oh, then you should definitely downgrade if the battery-only method works!

It probably only uses like 10% of the battery at most.
