First if all you need an older version of Lumines without the 3.51 patch on it, then you need to upgrade your PSP to 3.50, then you need to install a hacked savegame and the downgrader, run them, and your PSP will be on 1.50. I'm pretty sure there's a more in-depth tutorial on here.

if you have it from when you had your old psp, then it's the right one.
and it also works with any mobo

I'm not sure if there's any way to tell just from the box, when you're buying it. Try buying it from a store that offers some sort of money-back guarantee - so if it isn't the right version, you can get a refund.
