HELP: PSP video woes... can't play any type of video

I have firmware 3.40 OE. I know that with firmware 1.50 could only support MPEG4 at 320x240 & 368x208 768kbps Stereo/128kbps. I know that firmware 3.30 and above could support AVC 480x272 & 720x480 768kbps Stereo/128kbps.

I read that Dark_Alex's 3.40 OE functionality is of both 1.50 & 3.40 (higher resolution video formats). However I have been having a hard time converting my WMVs into PSP compatible video formats. I want the highest/best picture & sound resolution. I have used PSPVideo9, MediaCell, SUPER & AnyVideoConverter. All have failed.

PSPVideo9 just doesn't convert WMVs at all.
AnyVideoConverter at 720x480,768kbps,128kbps doesn't play at all. However at 320x240,512kbps,64kbps it played for 2 seconds before getting a message, "cannot view video".

I don't even think 3.40 OE is capable of playing official 3.40 capable video formats (720x480, etc). Please can someone confirm this, or am I doing something wrong? Also, is M33 series can play 720x480 at 768kbps at 128kbps? If so, what software do you use to convert? And can it convert WMVs?

Can you confirm whether 3.40 OE can really support resolutions higher than 320x...?
Doubleposted Message Below:
Okay, I use SUPER to convert WMV to PSP-MP4. They have 720, 768 bitrates (but no 512kbps strangely enough). I successfully viewed a video converted to 368x208, 768kbps @ 128kbps. I tried 480x272 but that failed. I now firmly believe that CFW 3.40 OE can only play max. 368x208, whereas the official 3.40 can play 720x480.

Please again reconfirm this fact. What about CFW 3.71? Can 3.71M33 play 720x480?

Yeah, 3.71M33 must be able to play 720 by 480
