Cool .RAR file problem

I need help. Whenever I download a .rar file, my computer thinks for some reason that it is a Gamemaker file. I can occasioanlly unzip the file, but that does nothing. For example, when I downloaded a homebrew game in .rar format, and I double-clicked it to open it up, it said it was a Gamemaker file, a "corrupt one" ( that's because it obviously is NOT a gamemaker file), and then it opened up gamemaker for some reason. Then I extracted it, and it was the same exact file, a "corrupt gamemaker file". When I put it in my PSP/GAMES folder and turned on my psp, I was misssing memory ( the amount it took up) but it was no where to be found. Any ideas what to do?

right click the file and go to "open with" then select whatever program you use to unzip files like winzip or winrar

And your homebrew goes into PSP/GAME No 'S' Jon. I would also try to uninstall Gamemaker if you never use it. That way you can eliminate one problem.

Ok, I used to use winzip, and that didn't work. I downloaded winrar, and I was able to extract the file. I then had a .cue file and a .bin file. This game came in three parts. Each one having a .cue/.bin file. How do I put these on my psp? I know how to, but is there any special way? Since I put them under PSP/GAME and in a folder that held all the parts. That didn't work.

If you can assure us that the PS1 game you downloaded was legal (i.e. it was homebrew of some sort), we can help you convert it with AutoPopStation4. Otherwise, we cannot help you.

I don't see how I could prove it. I don't know if it would be considered "legal" in these forums...

Well, you don't need to. I looked into postation 4 ( I had been using some other popstation before) and after much trouble got it to work. I put the eboots on my psp and it works perfectly. Thanks.
