Upgrade Path

Howdy! been away for a while with work just got back and seen many changes, been searching around the foum and found that to get to 3.71+ M33 theres a specific upgrade path i have to follow... yet i cant seem to find the exact path needed to upgrade.. if possble could someone link the shortest upgrade paths with cumlative updates if possible.

I'm on 3.51 M33 (Rev 1)

Also are the updates now just patches? as opposed to creating a large DAX?

Any links/help would be greatly appeciated... also crossing my fingers for 3.80 M33 before christmas >.>

Thanks in advance!

Good to see you back, Dragona! The upgrade path in question would be this:
3.51 M33 -> 3.52 M33 -> 3.52 M33-4 -> 3.71 M33

And from there you can install the small 3.71 M33-4 patch, the large 1.50 kernel patch, whatever.

(Red arrows indicate a large update, one that would require a DATA.DXAR. (However, for newer M33 firmwares, the DATA.DXAR file is built right into the EBOOT.PBP.) Blue arrows indicate a small patch (a five second update).)

It's not ideal, but that's the shortest upgrade path you can take... Unless you don't mind making a Pandora, but that takes longer.

Thanks for the reply, and i'm considering getting a new battery, then using my old one as a pandora (i read somewhere that sony fixed the new ones)

Also the large updates meaning using m33 creator with 1.50, 3.52 eboots? or is that different with having to install 1.50 seperate?

For 3.52 M33, you need the 3.52 and 1.50 EBOOT.PBPs to be in the root with the names 352.PBP and 150.PBP respectively, but 3.71 M33 needs only the 3.71 EBOOT.PBP (with, aptly, the name 371.PBP), but the 1.50 kernel needs to be installed separately. (1.50 kernel addon v2 - search for it).

BTW, I did the whole Pandora process - making the battery, doing what's needed with it, and making the battery normal again - with just one battery and the AC adapter. It's very safe, and you need not buy an extra.
