How do I modify my PSP?

I hope this is in the right section. Well I am very new to "cracking" a psp, but I can not find a good tutorial on how to "crack" mine. My PSP is one of those fat ones with a sytem software number of 3.73. I was hoping for some help on this. Please and thank you.

I think you need a pandora's battery and magic memory stick in order to "crack" that firmware. If I'm wrong someone correct me

You can install a custom firmware onto your PSP which unlocks it's full potential. You can do homebrew and stuff

Make sure when you upgrade you read the readme files through a couple of times. Especially if you are new at this sort of thing.
