HELP NEEDED!

so i downloaded a game and i got all those .001 .002 etc files and i did as most people said to do: extract the first one to the map you want and it will put all files together... when i tried to do this it said the file was damaged, but for everyone else who dled it it worked? how can i fix this?

I'm going to assume this game you downloaded is freeware . Look for a .rar file within all the files you downloaded. If there is none look for a .000 file or something like that.
