| Alright, i would first ask if any foreign objects/matter may have gotten into the UMD slot. The clicking noise may be part of the normal operation and just sounds loud. My psp2000 series and my psp1000 series both during their operation has made a clicking noise when accessing a UMD from time to time. I likely suspect it is actually the umd and not the system. let it be a lesson to take care of the umd discs. As far as games not loading that have been downloaded from the PSN store (You most likely do not have cfw, so emus, back-ups, etc would not work) i would suggest checking that the psp is still activated with the psn. also how big is the memstick inserted in the psp? (i assume you may not be tech afluent) Perhaps you have out of room or overwrote files.
More information may help me solve you issue. The exact firmware on the system. if you have updated firmware recently. has the memstick been corrupted.
silly me, i just reread your post. I know believe that you mean umd games will not load. okay first definitely make sure no foriegn matter is in umd drive area. I recommend a can of air. Second, check the actual umd disc. It there is an amout of fingerprint 'grease' on the actual disc surface then the lens cannot properly read the disc surface. Use a clean soft lint free cloth and wipe from the center of the umd to the outer edge. then carefully rotate the inner disc to clean the next area in the same manner. DO NOT use any solvents period. As for the clicking please see some of my original post.
sorry i could not answer sooner,
