eLoader Guide

eLoader Guide

eLoader is the best way to use homebrew on 2.01-2.60. The only other option is the Dark Karnage Shell, which is booted in the same way, through GTA. Please note that at the time of writing, GTA:LCS is the ONLY way of booting homebrew on these versions. However, the new copies are (supposedly) patched, so watch out. The patched ones say 2006 as the date on the back - the unpatched ones say 2005.

Step 1

First, you need:

GTA: LCS (UMD disc for PSP)
PSP version 2.01 to 2.60
Memory Stick
Homebrew
eLoader (get the Windows auto-installer here or the individual files here.

Installation

To install it, connect up your PSP, and either run the exe or follow the readme.txt in the zip. I will follow the exe. When it asks you if you want to continue, click yes, and click next on the Licence Agreement. Then, click on the dropdown at the top of the installation, and select one of these, depending on which version of GTA you have:

European GTA Version Only (2.01+ PSPs)
American Version Only (2.01+ PSPs)
German Version Only (2.01+ PSPs)

Then click next, and locate your PSP. When that is done, click Install.

Step 2

Drag and drop your homebrew folders into X:/PSP/GAME (where X is your PSP) and start GTA. The homebrew menu may start automatically, if not, press start, Load Game, and choose eLoader. When it asks you if you want to load, click YES. Then, it will open. Choose the homebrew you want to launch, and press X.

But if it does start automatically, you may have some problems loading GTA itself. To fix this, boot GTA with no memory stick inserted. It will run the starting movie like when you bought it. You should insert the MS while or after the cut-scene. Then either load and save game, or just save the new game whaen you can.

Comments, please!

You should add, that if the eloader does start on game startup.. how to get your actually save game to start up instead. I had trouble with that for a while! =P
