I never needed to forward ports with BitComet but with BitTirnado and Azureus I did. |

Sameerf, Azureuz is much faster than BitComet, I used to use BitComet but it crashed a lot, and even when it didn't crash my speeds were slower. I think it could depend on your system confiuration -- the speed that is.

My internet connection can get speeds up to 200kb/s. I've heard something about a private tracker, is it something to do with that? |

I've heard something about a private tracker, is it something to do with that? | Check the amount of seeders compared to leechers, seeders being people uploading with the complete files and leechers being the people downloading with uncomplete files. To get the best speeds I would recommend searching around for a private torrent site that makes you download aswelll as upload (this stops people from downloading then not uploading and speeds with this download system are fast). And some people get 1000kb/s because they have a very fast internet connection, mine usually sits at 230kb/s depending on the amount of seeders compared to leechers and sometimes if I am lucky I get 270kb/s (that is a very rare occurence). I always avoid torrents that have more leechers than seeders (the speeds are bound to be very slow) also download speeds increase when you have more of the file and this means that some clients that automatically block people that have downloaded below a certain amount (this only happens when people are leeching the file not seeding seeders share the files with everyone) now allow you to share what they have got. | |
