mmm ur prob rite altho it proves that u can run an update eboot on 2.71!!! Surely thats not bad!?!?! Up to now with people fiddling with hex editors have said wow i got it to boot then u get the ol eboot cannot start error! At least with this we didnt get that!! I wunder if anyone has tried it with starting the 2.71 modified eboot then swapping the memory stick for a stick with a game eboot on it under the same folder!?!?!? Cas then it wudnt say incorrect version!?!? Just a thought!!! Of course this would be cool. However thers one huge problem with the downgrader solution here. We cant edit the 2.00 eboot to downgrade without sony key! And so back to square one!

Nobody seems to understand that we can do this on any firmware version, its not hard at all, either with a swap or a hex edit this can be done. Its been done numerous times and its not going to get anywhere, he hex edited a 2.71 update to read as 2.72, and he also changed some words in the param.sfo, thats all he did. Its nothing. If you were to take a 2.60 psp and launch a 2.70 update and do the same thing with 2 mem sticks, 1 with the 2.70 update and the other with the 2.0 update, it would do the exact same thing, once you go to press start it will tell you there is no need to upgrade, plz dont believe this, as its nothing and has been done before
