You say you're running the 1.5 firmware, but it thinks it's 2.0? Just use a 1.5 version number changer to swap it to 1.5, then upgrade.

As for him "using the wrong downgrader," that's wrong. The JP/US downgrader is the same thing. Why? There was NO 1.5 "US" update. The 1.5 update everyone uses to downgrade is the JP version. There is no EU, TW, US, HK, AU, or other 1.5 update, only the JP 1.5. All other regions shipped from the factory at launch with either 1.5 or 2.0. That recently released downgrader is for Taiwanese and Asian countries with the exception of Japan. The TW/AS PSP's were patched in such a way that the original downgrader didn't work.

Try to restore default settings from system settings, and then try to upgrade again to 2.0.

Yeah, try that first before you mess with the firmware number.
