if sony is releasing a full fledged ps1 emulator for the psp, why couldnt one of us make one? (one of us being anyone but me because my psp programing skills are very limited) |

(one of us being anyone but me because my psp programing skills are very limited) | Simple, cuz they have multiple people working on it, and they all know everything about the psp, they could probly even make a full speed N64 emu if they wanted to, but we know that wont happen, and there was someone working on a PS1 emu, i think it was PacManFan, and he got good progress, but he must have stopped working on it, and there is a PS1 emu for the GP2X, and it gets good speed too |

working from scratch on this one can take veeery long as you would have to extremely optimize the code. the psone and psp are not that different though. it can surely be done. the psp is powerful enough to do this. but you would have to work with a dynamic recompiler to translate the instructions else the emulation would be extremely slow. |
