you do mean read only right? because if we had Flash0 access read and write... thats exactly what kernal is basicaly.

First off, Flash 0 write access is impossible in User Mode, we had partial kernel on 2.0, that lead to the downgrader.

Kernel is not just access to flash 0 write, kernel is the ability to use all of the psp's resources, and have access to all individual hardware, this cannot be achieved in user mode, but kernel also leads to FULL flash 0 write access, but we can read flash 0 in user mode

We had no kernel access whatsoever on 2.00. I was wrong about that, and Fanjita corrected me. Also, it is not possible to have "partial" of either mode. You are either fully kernel-mode or fully user-mode.
