What Can't the Recovery Mode Help With?

Okay, well I plan to do a bunch of customizing on my PSP, and I have HarleyG's custom firmware v0.2 installed. First off I would like to know, what can't the Recovery Mode protect me from? Like with a custom font, how would I get the 2.00 update running on it? Doesn't the update use the installed font, or is it somehow integrated into the update?

Stuff like that basically. I just want to make sure I don't end up with a non-fixable brick.

It will completely re-flash the PSP with whatever firmware you wish so your pretty much safe from anything.

Well, I mean what can prevent me from being able to load the update via Recovery Mode? Like how I was talking about the fonts, when you are in the update, it obviously uses the default font. If that's corrupted, how could I run the update?

I think the font is somehow contained within an update because once I accidently started a 2.00 update on my 1.5 while using a custom font but the font in the update was the regular psp font.

Basicly the only thing you CAN'T recover from are a completely broken firmware files. (Eg. A corrupted key PRX).

Or, if you bricked using a font or something like that, you could place the X-flash files inside the "PSP/GAME/UPDATE" folder and use the option to flash the original Sony fonts.

Though, if a Sony update is not an option, try using a custom updater, such as the 2.71 SE installer, then using the generic downgrader to return to v1.50!

If there's no way to fix it using an update, then you just need to find a way around it!

Recovery mode can recover nearly all accidental brickings, the only ones it cant recover are delibarate brickings eg. trojans
