Points: 10.66 Donate | | possible virus concept discovered, affects ALL FIRMWARE UP TO 2.80!!! Hey guys,
I recently fucked up my PSP with the tiff exploit, watch this:
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YitgmXo9O4w"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YitgmXo9O4w" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="600" height="350"></embed></object>
It can now only play UMD GAMES (i.e. no movies) and can affect PSP firmwares up to 2.80!
What it is is a TIFF file in the flash where the background should be, renamed 'background.bmp', some1 tried this 4 a way 2 load up games, the only reason it messed up my PSP is because I had a background enabled before i put the TIFF file in.
I just put this down because i thought sum trojan writer might discover the same thing as I did and make a Bricker program, so just to let u no.
Best defence, no background, that's what killed my PSP .
P.S. I wasnt looking 4 a way 2 brick my PSP, it was accident.

The best way to get BSOD (which wud have cured it) is to turn it off with a UMD in it (I have parental control, incase my bro tries to play my games) and shut it off in the password screen, unfortunately, it actually doesnt help, since it crashes at this point. The fault IS a corruption in flash 1, a TIFF exploit image in the background folder and the file renamed 'background.bmp'

hey wait a minute...you know games that use a USB connection to a PS2? it comes up as PSP type D when you put it in a PC at this stage, it is only meant to be recognized by a PS2, so use a PS2 emulator, if we can dump and analyze the code for the PSP USB, we just might have an expliot, or has this already happened?
