I want:
-Custom PRX loading at boot;
-Custom XMB icons;
-Boot-up key combinations (eg, IRShell);
That's about it really, I don't need much else.
Support for all demos would be almost impossible. It would require spoofing firmware v2.82, which would be easily detected by the applications.
X-flash works perfectly; Our only problem is that a lot of the features make changes to offsets in firmware v1.50's system software files. They would be certain brickers if they were to alter a completely different file from a later firmware. Things like Gameboot and font replacement are the only things that could work, and you can do that with "271customizer" or "uFlash".
You also have the problem of almost no space left in the flash after installing 2.71SE, and flashing a large gameboot, font, mp3 or file could create problems.
All these factors deem the check for v1.50 firmware quite necessary.
You can already do that. Go into the configurator and enable the skipping of the SCE logo. That stops auto-execution.
And, Robkellas, don't you mean the XMB? What's an XBM? LOL
I have his email, but I don't think I should give it out. SE-C will have the features Dark_Alex gives it; There's not much point in making requests.
EDIT: Has anybody else had problems with launching the XMB via IRShell? When I do, I get one of two outcomes:
-The screen flickers for about 1/5 of a second then returns to the IRShell GUI;
OR
-The XMB launches, but IRShell has been written off. [L]+[Select] no longer return to IRShell, and the overclocking, music playing etc. has gone.
This means that the XMB kills off IRShell before launching.
It's pretty annoying for me as 222mhz simply isn't enough for the "Game > Memory Stick" area to function properly. Hover over an game or ISO icon and 6 seconds later it appears. 333mhz is what we need.
